· Have your bike sticker attached.
We will check your Bike to see if it is in good condition. Once you are in transition, you can place your Bike and stuff where you choose. Please limit the area under your Bike as we need to put six bikes per rack. Transition closes at 7 am sharp; if you are not there, you do not race. So please don’t be late.
We will not allow any bike to be removed from transition until we deem it safe and most participants have finished the bike course. This is a safety issue and will be strictly enforced by the Race Director. Take this into consideration for your timeline after the race.
Transition closes @ 7:00 am .
PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE.
YOU MUST BE OUT of Transition by 7 am.
Pre-Race Meeting: 7:10am Inside the Aquatic Center

ID and USAT: Bring your photo ID and USAT card if you have an annual membership. Yes, you can take a picture of both with your iPhone and use it instead of bringing the original. If you purchased a day pass, we would have that on record.
Parking: Many of you have parked in the Elizabeth Street parking lot in the past; there are a few spots there; please park anywhere inside Landa Park, there is plenty of parking. You may have to ride your bike a ways. If you ride your Bike to transition, make sure you have your helmet on and strapped.
Bike Sticker: You will receive a small white adhesive sticker in your packet that you put on your Bike NOT your helmet. Make sure the area that you put it on is dry and clean. Yes you can put it anywhere that we can see it except on the tires 😊
Swim Caps: Caps are not required; however, we have some leftovers and will give them out at packet pickup until we run out.
Timing and Timing Chip: You will receive a disposable timing chip strap in your packet. Please place on your LEFT ankle. Please be careful when you attach the strap, as it is the only one you will get. Your time will be displayed on the Black Timing Trailer. The bib must be on the front of your person on the run and must be visible when you finish.
Body Marking. You must Body Mark yourself BEFORE you get to the race (SEE BIB NUMBER ASSIGNMENTS IN YOUR EMAIL). We will send the participant list out with your bib number assignment before the race. Use a big fat marker so we can see it. Mark your body as follows:
· Bib number on each arm close to the top of the shoulder.
· Bib number on the front of each thigh where we can see it.
· Age on right back calf.
· Relay members, instead of age on the right calf, put an “ R “.
Awards: We will have an awards ceremony as soon as we can when the age categories fill out. Top 3 Male and Female for Swim/Run, Swim/Bike, Bike/Run, Fat Tire, and Relays. The Triathlon will have age group awards to top 3 in each 5 year age category.
Finisher Medals: Finisher medals will be handed out at the Archway Finish Line when you complete the race.
Swim\Run Duathlon: You will start the race in the Olympic Pool. When you finish the swim, go into transition using the swim-run entrance; when you go out for run use the same entrance. DO NOT go out the bike in-Bike out entrance.
Swim\Bike Duathlon: You will start the race in the Olympic Pool. When you finish the swim, go into transition using the swim-run entrance, and then when you go out for Bike, use the Bike In Bike out entrance. When you finish the Bike and come back into transition your race is over. Rack your Bike and go get your finisher medal.
Bike\Run Duathlon: After the pre-race meeting, you will go into transition and stand by your Bike.
NEW: We will start the Duathletes one at a time at 7:30am as the Timer releases you. Go out the Bike in – Bike out opening. When you came back rack your Bike and then go out the run exit.
Relays ONLY: The swimmer must place the disposable timing chip on their leg. When the swimmer comes into the transition, CUT or TAKE THE ANKLE CHIP STRAP OFF this will ensure that you don’t trip other timing points. The bike relay member will attach the small bib number license plate on the front of the Bike on the cables. DO NOT put on the handle bars or stem, your timing chip is attached to that license plate. The runner will put on the race bib and where it on the front of your shirt, this is your timing chip. Failure to follow these rules will results in your team not receiving a time. The Bike relay person will need to be in transition and wait for the swimmer to come in. The runner relay person will need to be in transition and wait for bike relay person to come in. If the Runner wants to be outside transition YOU MUST NOT WEAR THE BIB as this will trigger the time and your race time is now affected. Runner only put on the bib inside transition and ready to run.
Swim and Swim Start: Every year following USAT protocols, we test the water in both pools for e-coli. We will start one at a time every 5-8 seconds based on how fast you swim 100 meters. We will line you up at pre-race based on this. We will call out those that can swim 100 meters in less than 1-minute line, and then so on down the line.

When going over the tracks go straight over, do not go sideways as your tire will catch and you will go down. If a train is coming and the Flashing bar goes down you MUST STOP. Once the bar comes up you can proceed. There is NO time allowance if you are caught by the train. This is an OUT and BACK course. The turnaround will be just past the intersection of Hueco Springs and River Rd. Take time to go to the website and review the map as it is your responsibility to know the course.
